Dear Readers,
My favourite holiday is Thanksgiving, and even if I am not living in Canada I would never miss celebrating it! The solution this year was to get together with my fellow Canadians here at my residence in Glasgow. We actually managed to put together a full Thanksgiving dinner, filled with appetizers, delicious food, dessert, and wine! Plus who doesn’t love the excuse to dress up, eat delicious food, and drink wine on a Sunday evening.
My contribution was mashed potatoes, plus a bruschetta and an apple, pear & brie chutney on baguette! The recipe I used for the chutney & bruschetta were both so delicious, and I will definitely be making both recipes again.
We decided to break out a couple of bottles of bubbley to celebrate our favourite Canadian holiday. I think we may have startled a few people with the commotion we were causing… but it led to some lovely group photographs.
We had friends from England, the Netherlands, and the U.S. join us for their first Canadian Thanksgiving. That did mean we had the addition of Yorkshire puddings to our Thanksgiving dinner, which I highly recommend!
For my second Thanksgiving away from Canada, it was still a success and I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving too!
