Dear Readers,
So for the last twenty-four hours, I have been on a Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again kick. I went to see the film last night but once I booked tickets yesterday I started listening to the new soundtrack to see what songs they were going to be playing! I have loved ABBA since the first Mamma Mia film came out ten years ago. Especially after living in Sweden for a year I fell even more in love with ABBA. SO I thought I would share a few photos from an ABBA-themed event my friends and I went to back in June.
I always love dressing up for any themed event, and ABBA was no exception, the funnest part of the entire night was getting ready and listening to ABBA before actually going to the club.
For my 1970s style, I wore white wide leg trousers from Uniqlo, a dark green top I borrowed from my friend, a silk headband I bought in Macclesfield on my trip to Manchester in February, blue tassel earrings from H&M, and brown wedge. Plus I put on much more eye-shadow than usual! I actually got to put my dress history skills to work for a non-academic purpose!
My friends were all dressed fabulously as well!!! All the glitter, the eye-shadow, heels, headbands, wide-leg pants, sequins, etc we were definitely the best-dressed crew at the club that night. The best part was that everything we were wearing pretty much was already parts of our wardrobes already! It’s always fun to challenge yourself to find an outfit for a themed event already hidden in your wardrobe!
Well as I continue to work on my dissertation, I will continue to be playing the new Mamma Mia album in the library… so if you notice my head bobbing a bit I’m probably listening to “When I kissed the teacher”…. maybe Donna’s graduation from Oxford will be the driving force for me to finish this thesis!
I loved the movie !! It was hard to sit still….but my toes were tapping and feet were dancing.
