Dear Readers,
I am sure many of my local readers have heard about the new cafe that opened in February in Rothesay, the Garden Grove Cafe, which is located at 2 Grove Avenue, just on the corner across from the Rothesay Post Office.
Initially, I was just so thrilled to hear that there was going to be a cafe WALKING distance from my house, and only a five minute walk I might add. However, I am so impressed with this little cafe and it will definitely become a go to work spot and coffee date spot for me.
On their website they describe themselves “A Small Café With A Lot Of Style” and that is a extremely accurate statement. From the moment you walk in you are greated by a lovely barista and instantly captivated with the decor. It honestly reminded me of a little cafe I would have found while living in London: posh and minimalistic with pops of colour. The interior is all painted white, with a black, marble, gold and tan colour palette. Plus, they sell local pottery and paintings which add to the design of the cafe.
When it comes to the menu I have only tried a couple of things:
1) The Gardener’s House Blend
2) The Breakfast Biscuit
3) Prosecco
I was definitely a fan of all three things, but I will have to keep coming back to try out the rest of their menu. I for one can be extremely indecisive when it comes to ordering, so I always enjoy a small menu, it makes it so much easier to decide.
When I went for a visit last week, Allie and I had just finished a busy shift at work, so we decided to check out the licenesed version of the beverage menu. We both opted for a glass of processo (one of my favourite beverages of course), nothing says congrats on surviving a busy day in retail like a rewarding drink!
If you have been driving past the cafe or if you are visiting Rothesay I definitely recommend that you stop in for a visit. The coffee is great and the atmosphere is just so lovely!
