Dear Readers,
Recently, I stopped into H&M here in Saint John and I was amazed to see that they were carrying the Richard Allan collection, and better yet it was all on sale!!! A few other bloggers I follow had posted pieces of it, and I just didn’t imagine that the little H&M here in Saint John would have carried the collection at all. This collection was designed with prints from the Richard Allan archival collection from the 1960s.
“Richard Allan became a household name. His groundbreaking designs and use of colour were perfect for the Swinging Sixties, but he also maintained a firm focus on classically elegant scarves for those who wanted timeless chic.”
Sometimes H&M does some excellent collaborations, and this for certain is one of them.
“A collaboration with Richard Allan, one of the most innovative British scarf designers of the ’60s, bringing you a collection of prints created from the original design archives. Revive the energy of Swinging London with eye-catching silhouettes and abstract patterns in an alluring palette.”
The print I am wearing is Archival print N°1: PICCADILLY, based off the Piccadilly circuit in London. I absolutely love the 60s vibe to the garment. It is just so much fun! Plus, I think the influence of this piece is so interesting, that it makes the dress feel more like a work of art.
I was even stopped on the street and complimented by a stranger who told me I looked fabulous 🕶️
Here are a few other items that the Piccadilly print comes in. I REALLY love the midi length skirt, I might have to go in and pick it up!
Check out more from Richard Allan’s collection here or more from the H&M Richard Allan collection here. There are lots of great pieces to check out!!
