The Northern New Brunswick Adventure

Dear Readers,

For work I was asked to travel around to the northern part of the province a few weeks ago, and for being a work trip it was actually a blast. It was so interesting to be a tourist in my own province and check out all of these places I had never actually been before! My friend and I travelled to Miramichi, Campbelton, Tracadie, Shediac, and Moncton (for you non- New Brunswickers these are probably some really interesting names for you to here). New Brunswick is the only Canadian province that is bilingual, French & English are the provincial languages! Where I live in the south of New Brunswick is primarily English, while other parts in the North are primarily French!

Miramichi: Was a beautiful city that is along the ocean side! They have a great boardwalk that was really neat to check out, and had a very classic East Coast nautical vibe to it!

Campbelton: Is at the northern tip of the province and the bridge that crosses over to Quebec is there! The city is super bilingual, where some people spoke only English and others only French! Driving up to Campbelton from Dalhousie was gorgeous, all these large hills along the water was simply breath taking on a beautiful day. They also have a really incredible fossil collection at the library !!

Tracadie: A super french town, and by french I mean people were unable to speak english at all. It was so eye opening to drive into a town that was ALL french, posters, drive throughs, everything, all within my own province! The people were so incredibly friendly, it was my favourite spot on the trip!!

Miramichi take 2: We returned to Miramichi to spend the night, and we stayed at the beautiful Road Hotel which was on the water. We got to check out the gorgeous restaurant at the hotel, and we ordered room service for breakfast, so it made for a fantastic Friday evening.

Shediac: Our last stop was in Moncton, but we stopped in Shediac along the way. Shediac has a fantastic beach that is extremely popular in the summer. And of course we had to stop by and find Shediac’s signature lobster!

If you ever get the chance to visit northern New Brunswick I totally recommend it!! It is so beautiful, and unique. I was pretty lucky to get to adventure around northern New Brunswick for work. I definitely think it is important to appreciate what there is to see in do right where you live! I doubt you could ever see it all.
